- Your customer telephones Pharmaphone Serviceline using a touch-tone telephone.
- The system prompts for caller identification and password entry. Once
- identified, the customer is prompted repetitively for PIP Code and quantity.
- Experienced users can interrupt each prompt automatically (by keying data) for
- faster processing. PIP codes are format- and check digit-validated immediately.
- 6-digit codes are accepted and converted automatically to 7-digit codes (by
- leading zero insertion). Quantities are initially assumed to be singles. Case
- quantities can be entered directly with a leading zero. For new and less
- experienced users, each valid order line is read back to the caller for
- confirmation. More experienced users can simply key code and quantity entries
- until the end of the order is indicated. At the end of the order, the caller
- can review the order line by line and make amendments. On acceptance of the
- order, the system advises the caller that the order is being processed and
- requests that they remain on the line for results. During the wait period,
- music or promotional messages can be played. On completion of processing, the
- caller is informed of the results. Out of stocks are advised together with
- appropriate reasons (subject to corresponding host system features).
